Finding Steady London Employment In The IT Field

For any information technology professional, finding reliable and steady employment in this competitive field is of the utmost importance. These days, with a shrinking number of IT jobs available to a growing number of IT specialists in the market, it is becoming more and more difficult for the average job seeker to land the perfect position for them. In this article, I wanted to share my experiences searching for IT jobs in London with you, and give you the resources that I have used to find an unlimited amount of information technology work.

Covering everything from internet technology to network systems and software engineering, there’s no doubt that IT professionals are in high demand. Still, finding steady employment in this exciting field proves to be a difficult task for some. With so many companies outsourcing their technology related needs to other countries, job seekers have noticed a significant decrease in the number of good paying jobs that are readily available. I have been fortunate enough to hold down a steady full-time job in the IT field for about seven years now. Recently, I realised that my current salary wasn’t enough to cover all of the expenses that my family and I were generating. So I decided to set out in search of part-time work in my field.

In the first week or so of my job search I was optimistic, to say the least. I assumed with my skill set and experience that finding a good paying part time IT job in London would be easy. Oh boy, was I wrong. After submitting my resume to countless companies, I realised that most employers were looking for either more full time employees with the latest qualifications or weren’t willing to pay enough for part time work for it to be worthwhile for me. I even attempted to contact local small businesses and offer my services to them on a freelance basis. I’m not sure if it is because of the current economy or because my marketing skills weren’t up to par, but I didn’t get a single response. Still, I knew there had to be away to use my skills to make extra money. Undeterred, I continued to search for IT jobs in London.

It wasn’t long before I came across a website that specialised in IT and temporary positions for people like me. I was amazed at the sheer number of companies and small businesses that were in desperate need of people who worked in my field. In addition to that, the salaries that they were willing to pay for even part time work were in some cases more than I was accustomed to making at my full time job. As if that wasn’t enough to convince me to get started right away, I also learned that I could work at whatever pace I wanted. If I had a large amount of extra time I could do as much work as I liked. Likewise, if I was busy or wanted to take a night off there were no set schedules to answer to.

I have now been happily and gainfully employed at my second job for about two months. To be honest, taking on a second job working from home has been the best decision I have ever made. No longer do I have to worry about having enough money to pay all my bills, as I can work as much or as little as I like to suit my needs. If you work in the information technology field and have been struggling trying to find steady employment or even a second job, I would highly recommend checking out this page Part Time Jobs In London right here on our websiste.  It’s proven to be a fantastic resource for finding both part time and work at home positions.
